Late #TBT Remembering 38 and 8

I set out Thursday morning with a question posting to my Facebook page asking people if they remembered where they were 38 years ago.  I then asked if they remembered where they were 8 years ago.  Knowing the cheeky sort my group of friends and colleagues tend to be, I wasn't surprised when a variety of answers rolled in.

It seems like a million years ago that a bunch of us were whiling away the hours on Mindlink BBS in the wee hours just chatting away aimlessly.  I remember the conversation coming up about another chat system where everyone needed a handle or alias to use.   I wanted to check it out but was at a complete loss for something to use.

How many times as a child and youth were we given that particular phrase as a story starter?  All too often, I'm afraid.  Oddly enough, I always managed to come away with a completely different story depending on the day and what was going on at the time..  

Lily Celebrates 4th Birthday With New Hope and New Kidney

Lily Maclean-Maloney and her family are celebrating her 4th birthday today with a renewed hope as Lily adjusts to her new kidney and a life without dialysis. What a wonderful birthday gift! Happy Birthday Lily!

21 Years.. We Did It!

21 years..   Wow.  

A day that could have been the end of everything, turns into a 2nd chance and many new adventures.  Not always the journey I'd envisioned, or even hoped for -- but rarely boring.
